The Saami People and the Beautiful Baby

Of course, I was drawn to this group from Norway because of the bubbly, beautiful baby boy. But once I started chatting with this group from Norway, I learned that many people do not support this annual UN gathering of indigenous peoples because of “lack of knowledge about the UN and everything that happens here,” said Marit Kemi.

Marit is reporting on and advocating for the Saami people, who live in Russia, Finland Sweden and Norway and like all indigenous people, “We have our struggles to get the rights that we should have.”
